Jack and his wife, Sherry, were given
two polled hereford cows as a wedding gift from her Dad (Wayne "Smiley" Moore,
Whispering Meadow Farms) and so began the family commitment to the Hereford
breed. The family grew to include four sons, and as their involvement with
4-H and Junior National Heifer Shows expanded, so did the Hereford numbers.
Today, Lowderman Cattle Company is truly a family operation with sons, daughter-in-laws,
and grandchildren: Monte, Carrie, Rhett; Brent, Kris, Blake, Morgan; Cody &
Abby; (Son, Cory, always in their hearts).
The herd has grown to 150
mother cows, 50-75 of which serve as recipient cows for donor embryos.
The top cut of heifer calves, as well as 15-20 young cows with outstanding
calves, are offered the third Sunday of September each fall at their
annual sale.
